Health Studies
The SWAP Access to Health Studies is a specialised programme that is designed to facilitate progression to one of the allied health professions, including radiography, ophthalmics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry or dietetics.
This is a science-based programme and, as such, would also provide backup progression routes into science-based degree programmes at university. Units vary from college to college, but most will include a core curriculum of biology, chemistry, physics, maths and communication, and may also offer psychology or other related subjects.
College partners currently (2024-25) offering the Access to Health Studies programme include:
Glasgow Clyde College
Glasgow Kelvin College
New College Lanarkshire
South Lanarkshire College
Applications should be made directly to the college you choose.
