As a SWAP East student you can participate in our mentoring scheme, either as a mentor or a mentee. Mentors are 1st, 2nd or 3rd year university students, mentees are students at college doing access programmes.

For mentees this is an excellent opportunity to meet someone who has been there and done it. Their role is to provide you with encouragement, guidance and support that will help you get through your access programme and make the transition from college to university.

For mentors this is a chance to make a real difference to someone's life. Your mentee will benefit from your knowledge, experience and enthusiasm.

"Having a mentor was definitely beyond what I expected, it felt like having a big brother ... We scheduled our appointments around me and my needs ... It was a really good experience, I am really glad I had a mentor"
